Home Office announce minimum salary for Skilled Workers to increase from 4th April 2024

As recently announced by the Home Office, the minimum salary to be sponsored as a Skilled Worker will be increasing from the current rate of £26,200 per annum to £38,700 per annum from 4th April 2024.
It is important to note that the proposed increase to the minimum salary to be sponsored as a Skilled Worker will NOT apply to those applying for a Health and Care Worker visa or for educational workers in national pay scale occupations such as Teachers.

The Home Office have recently published a factsheet on net migration measures that confirms that individuals who are already on the Skilled Worker route before the minimum salary requirement increases on 4th April 2024 will be exempt from the new minimum salary requirement when they change sponsor, extend their visa or apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. Please note that this also applies to individuals who submit a valid application under the Skilled Worker route prior to 4th April 2024 as their applications will be assessed in relation to the rules and requirements in place at the date of application.
